If you are a nature lover and a fervent defender of animal species, south of the Krai of Krasnoyarsk there is a really special place for you. It is the Sayano-Shushenski Nature Reserve, a reserve created especially to preserve the life of the snow leopard, one of the rarest species of cats in the world. Biologists estimate that there are currently between 3,500 and 7,500 snow leopards, and the Sayano reserve is home to the only six snow leopards living in the Western Sayano area, so scientists are making every effort to give special protection to these specimens, making it a unique and unrepeatable sight to see one of these six. In addition to the snow leopard, this reserve is home to many other species such as lynx, bears and wild boars. If you want to do a tour in Spanish, the best thing to do is to go on the trail called Viaje por el Cañón Sayano, since this route has variants that adapt to your personal needs, from the most difficult route for those intrepid adventure lovers, to a quiet route that will allow you to walk with more unevenness. You can also do the route on board of some snow transport and stay in nearby guest houses.
