In 2007, in the “difficult times” for the Samara club “Wings of the Soviets”, football fans joined together to create the first country’s Football Museum in Samara, which became a meeting place for sports enthusiasts and the education of the masses. It was opened jointly with the presentation of veterans and football fans, with the participation of the public association of the “Bastion Volzhski” and the well-known sports journalist, poet and publicist S. Leibgrad.
The district administration assigned the Samara football museum, and the defenders of the “wings” of Krzysztof Lagievka and Metyu. The founders helped fill their story with sports scripts. Numerous fans and players of the regional teams also joined the exhibition of the funds.
Samara football is represented in its 100-year-old splendor: in addition to the goals, shapes and gloves, stadium fragments, objects, pictures and photos from the archives of local teams: “Lokomotiv”, “Dinamo” , “Metallurg” Tolyatti “Lada” and others. Since the Silver Age, a large amount of material has been accumulated on the history of football in Samara.
The exhibition of the Football Museum in Samara is mainly dedicated to the “Wings of Soviets” club, whose history dates back to the Second World War. In 1942, a lot of great players, such as Alexander Gulevsky, Alfred Fedorov, Vladimir Sakharov have risen. Many of them played for the national team of the USSR then . But not only this team was dedicated to the curiosities of the museum’s collection.

There are many items among the exhibits that belonged to coaches and referees, as well as souvenirs: badges, key chains, pendants, etc. There are other attributes about victories and defeats in the athletics competitions: cups, programs, tickets, photos and posters. There is also a collection of autographs from Pele, Oleg Yashin, Guus Hiddink and many other football stars.
